What if they were Black?

On the one year anniversary of January 6th, the day the insurrectionists stormed the U.S. Capitol, Courageous Conversation® Global Foundation (CCGF) is tackling the question that we all asked ourselves:

We addressed the question “What if they were Black?” by creating R.I.P. (rest-in-peace) T-shirts, often seen in the Black community to mourn loved ones. The T-shirts visually reimagined the insurrectionists as Black people to highlight racial bias and the egregious difference in the repercussions they would have faced.

We collaborated with airbrush artist Casandra Burrell (@theairbrushgoddess) to design authentic memorial R.I.P. (rest-in-peace) T-shirts for the campaign. In addition, we digitally transferred the artwork and made it available online for consumers to own by supporting the effort to end racial bias in the US judicial system. A portion of the proceeds go to Courageous Conversation® Global Foundation to create equitable change.
